Printable grading charts
A grading chart (sometimes called an EZ grader chart or grading scale chart) lists every possible score on a test with its percentage and letter grade, so you can grade a stack of papers without doing the math each time. Choose the total number of points or questions:
- Grading chart out of 5 — each point = 20%, A from 4.5
- Grading chart out of 10 — each point = 10%, A from 9
- Grading chart out of 12 — each point = 8.33%, A from 10.8
- Grading chart out of 15 — each point = 6.67%, A from 13.5
- Grading chart out of 20 — each point = 5%, A from 18
- Grading chart out of 25 — each point = 4%, A from 22.5
- Grading chart out of 30 — each point = 3.33%, A from 27
- Grading chart out of 35 — each point = 2.86%, A from 31.5
- Grading chart out of 40 — each point = 2.5%, A from 36
- Grading chart out of 45 — each point = 2.22%, A from 40.5
- Grading chart out of 50 — each point = 2%, A from 45
- Grading chart out of 60 — each point = 1.67%, A from 54
- Grading chart out of 75 — each point = 1.33%, A from 67.5
- Grading chart out of 80 — each point = 1.25%, A from 72
- Grading chart out of 100 — each point = 1%, A from 90
Each chart uses the example scale A = 90%, B = 80%, C = 70%, D = 60%. For another total, partial credit, or your own cutoffs, use the Easy Grader. It builds and prints a chart for any total.
How to use a grading chart
- Open the chart that matches the test's total points (or number of equally weighted questions).
- Count the points the student earned, or the points missed.
- Read across to find the percentage and letter grade.
