Calculations happen on your device
Every calculation happens in your browser. Totals, scores, right and wrong counts, and points earned or lost are never sent to a server.
What GradeKind does not collect
GradeKind doesn't collect student names, student IDs or any scores you enter. GradeKind has no sign-up and no user accounts. What you type into the calculators is never sent to analytics or error-reporting tools.
What is saved on your device
So you don't have to set things up again on every visit, GradeKind keeps these in your browser's local storage, on your device only:
- Your custom grading-scale thresholds, if you've changed them from the default. This scale is shared between the Easy Grader and the Course Grade Calculator, so a change on either page applies to both.
- Your display preferences (whether decimals are shown, and, on the Easy Grader, your chosen chart settings and which calculator mode you last used).
Assignment and category names, points, weights and averages you type into either calculator are not saved. They stay in that browser tab until you close or reload it, and nobody else, GradeKind included, can see them. If your browser blocks storage, both calculators still work. You'll just need to set your preferences again next time.
Watching the guide
The tutorial video is hosted on GradeKind, without a third-party video player. It has no audio and does not autoplay. Your browser requests the video when you choose to play it.
Counting visits
Since October 31, 2026, GradeKind counts visits with Ahrefs Web Analytics. We use it to see which pages teachers and students open most. It also tells us how people found us, say a Google search or a link on another site, and the country and type of device. No cookies get set, IP addresses aren't stored with the numbers, and a visit on Monday can't be tied to one on Tuesday. Each page tells the tool to drop the part of the address after the # sign, where share links keep your scores, so your scores are never sent to it. The service is run by Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. in Singapore (Ahrefs privacy policy).
Contacting support
If you email support@gradekind.com, your email address and your message reach us through our email provider so we can reply. Calculator inputs are not attached automatically. Please use made-up example scores and do not send student names or personal information.
Resetting saved preferences
Use the "Restore default scale" button on the Easy Grader or the Course Grade Calculator to reset your grading scale from either page. Use "Reset saved preferences" on either page to reset the scale and that page's display settings. To also remove offline files, clear your browser's site data for this site (in most browsers: site settings → clear data for this site).
