About GradeKind
GradeKind is a free, browser-based grade calculator built for teachers who need a quick, correct percentage and letter grade — including scores with partial credit — without creating an account or sending any student data anywhere.
Methodology
GradeKind calculates a percentage as Earned \u00f7 Total \u00d7 100, where Earned and Total are
whatever you enter (questions or points). To avoid the small floating-point rounding errors that can affect
scores sitting near a grade boundary, calculations are performed using exact decimal arithmetic rather than
standard binary floating-point math. Letter grades are assigned from the exact, unrounded percentage
against your active grading scale; the on-screen decimal display is a separate, purely cosmetic setting
that never feeds back into the grade decision. See How It Works for the
full explanation with worked examples.
What we don't claim
The default A/B/C/D/F scale shown in the calculator is an editable example, not an official grading standard for any school, district, or country. GradeKind does not claim "100% accuracy" for grading policies it doesn't control, and this page does not list user counts, ratings, or school endorsements, because we haven't collected any.
Data and privacy
Calculations happen entirely in your browser. GradeKind does not collect student names, student identifiers, or entered scores, and does not require registration. Grading-scale preferences are saved on your own device only. See the full Privacy page for details.
